NHS Dekker afternoon with awarded fellowship and consortia grants
A joyful and successful day for the Medical Biochemistry department, on the Dekker afternoon of the Dutch Heart Foundation:
- Marten Hoeksema was awarded the Dekker Senior Scientist fellowship on his work on inflammatory lipid-associated macrophages in atherosclerosis.
- Menno de Winther, as consortium leader, received the cheque for the Athero-Neth consortium
- Vivian de Waard, consortium member of Aneurysm-NL, received funding for her aneurysm work.

The yearly AGEM awards were announced: Sebastian Hendrix will receive the AGEM Talent grant which will allow him to develop his project on MASLD. The AGEM innovation grant to study regulation of NPC1 was awarded to team ACHILLES consisting of Klevis Ndoj, Marion Brands, Georges Janssens, and Noam Zelcer.
